South Dakota is home to a lot of historical places, including the world’s greatest mountain carving, Mt. Rushmore. Sculpted in 1927 by Gutzon Borglum, Rushmore depicts the faces of famous American presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln. As history continues to be made and Bruges Waffles & Frites strives to become one of the top restaurant franchises in the nation, we’d like to propose adding our trademark waffle monster to the monument as we bring our tasty goodness to South Dakota.
Legend of the Waffle Monster
The waffle monster was first spotted in the US in 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the beginning of the Bruges brand. Little is known about this Belgian waffle cryptid except that he could be dangerous. While he loves freedom as much as the patriots of yore, he has a tendency to be a troublemaker, and preys on the curious nature of young and old alike, tempting them to try things they may not have before. This little monster is sneaky, and tends to lead people to addictive waffles. As Bruges grows in popularity, waffle monster sightings will not be uncommon.
WARNING: Bruges’ Waffle Monsters are extremely addictive. It only takes one monster and you will be craving it nonstop.
South Dakota Sightings
Even if he doesn’t make it as part of the famous Rushmore sculpture, there are several other places the waffle monster may be sighted in South Dakota. Here are a few:
