Bruges Waffles & Frites restaurant franchising division announced today the newest restaurant location in Draper, Utah. The new restaurant will serve as the prototype for future Bruges franchise locations, and will feature artwork from well-known Belgian comic artist, Adrien Noterdaem. The newest Utah location is scheduled to open in August 2015.

“We are excited to see the Bruges brand expand through our restaurant franchising team, and to have a prototype location to show to all future franchise owners to help them envision what their own location will look like,” said Philippe Wyffels, co-founder of Bruges Waffles & Frites. “We are also pleased to be working with fellow Belgian native Adrien Noterdaem on the interior design of the restaurant as a way to complete the European dining experience through the use of authentic Belgian comic imagery.”

Adrien Noterdaem is well known for his comic illustrations both online and in print media. As a creative warrior for a Belgian design agency, his illustrations have become well known for recreating characters of popular television shows and music icons in a Simpson’s style of art. Comics have become an integral part of Belgian culture, and Belgium boasts more comic artists per square kilometer than any other country in the world!

Bruges Waffles & Frites is proud of its authentic roots and plans on sticking to them through the franchising process. Belgium natives and owners Pierre Vandamme, and Philippe Wyffels met in Salt Lake City in 2002 and set out to recreate the authentic Liège waffle they remembered from their youth. Once they were successful, they began sharing the flavorful waffles with their new community at the farmers market, and created an instant fan base. From there, demand continued to grow and they soon opened a restaurant location in downtown Salt Lake City. As the demand for their unique specialties grew, so did their menu as they began offering authentic Belgian Frites, waffle sandwiches, and other specialties.

The restaurant franchising division is now pleased to be offering opportunities to bring a European dining experience to select communities in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. The successful franchise owner will be active in their community, and be ready to embrace the Bruges culture and values.
