Bruges Waffles & Frites, now available as a restaurant franchise, first entered the national spotlight, when it was featured on travel channel’s popular TV series Man V. Food. The host, Adam Richman, decided no trip to Salt Lake is complete without tasting Bruges’ famous waffles. Upon trying his first bite, Adam said the Liège waffle was unlike anything he had ever tasted, and that he wanted one every morning! (Watch the TV Segment here)
Since opening, Bruges has created quite the legacy for our brand. We started as a waffle cart in the farmers market of downtown Salt Lake City, offering the creation of co-founders Pierre Vandamme and Philippe Wyffels. Response to our authentic and delicious waffles was overwhelming, and we were soon able to open our first year-round restaurant location in the heart of downtown.
Our proprietary recipes continued to create raving fans, and we began expanding our menu to include Belgian style Frites and homemade dipping sauces. From there we were also able to introduce other Belgian specialties including Flemish stew, and our famous Machine Gun Sandwich®–also featured on Man V. Food. With the expansion of the menu, and a growing fan base, Bruges has opened three more restaurant locations throughout Utah, including our newest Draper store that opened in conjunction with National Waffle Week 2015. This location is the prototype for all future restaurants to come.
At Bruges, we are setting out to build more than an ordinary waffle company, but a true legacy of greatness.
